Sunday Post 5th February 2017

STSmall_thumb[2]

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted at Caffeinated Book Reviewer, it's a chance to post a recap on the past week, show the books we have received and share what we plan for the coming week. Stacking the Shelves is hosted by Tynga's Reviews and the aim is to show our newest books and to see what everyone else received for review, borrowed from libraries, bought in bookshops or downloaded on to their e-reader. As always you can click on any of the pictures to be taken to the Goodreads page for that book if you're interested in finding out more about it.

Last Week on the Blog:

Books We Got This Week:

The Lazarus VaultBlack RosesFreeks
The Lazarus Vault by Tom Harper: This is exactly the kind of book I am looking for at the moment - sort of ancient secrets and adventure and a great female protagonist! I definitely want to read this soon!
Black Roses by Jane Thynne: I didn't realise this was the first in a series but it definitely intrigues me - if I enjoy this one I will have to pick the rest up. Spies and WW2 - with, again, a hopefully great female protagonist!
Freeks by Amanda Hocking: I got this based purely off the Circus angle without looking at the blurb. Sometimes I like to ask my little brother what he thinks a book is about by the cover (whenever I don't want to look at the blurb - his answers are generally quite amusing) and all he said was "She's going to die." So that's hopeful.
The Forbidden Wish (The Forbidden Wish, #1)Letters from My SisterThe Storm Sister
The Forbidden Wish by Jessica Khoury: I have wanted this ever since it was released last year and I have no idea why it took me so long to get it! I decided to pre-order the paperback edition on Book Depository and I am so excited that it has arrived!
Letters From My Sister by Alice Peterson: This was passed along to me by my Great Aunt who just finished it and thought I would enjoy it - I love the cover and I have been intrigued by the blurb. I think I've read books by Alice Peterson in the past? The name definitely rings a bell.
The Storm Sister by Lucinda Riley: I picked this up today at Tesco because it's the second in her Seven Sisters series - and it was only 50 pence. So a definite steal!

Reading Update:

Ann:
Nothing finished this week - I've managed to start quite a few books so I am reading a lot of things at once and am near to finishing a few of them!

Clare:
Trapped in Wonderland
Trapped in Wonderland by Dani Hoots: 3 stars, You can check out my blog tour review for more in depth thoughts about this but mostly - I was really intrigued by the world and the secondary characters, less so by the main character but it's the start to a series that could be really good!

  10. How do you have so many posts up in a week? I am impressed. Looks like you've gotten some books, I am impressed at The Storm Sister for 50p! How do I not get these deals when I go to Tesco? I've had Forbidden Wish sat on my shelf for so long, basically since it's release but I hope you enjoy.

    1. I had a LOT of free time last month. Less so this month so I feel like my blogging is going to take a sharp dive!! I was so happy to find The Storm Sister so cheap - I've been wanting it for a while! I have so many books that I just HAD to buy on the release date and then have never read so I know the feeling!
