Tuesday Intro and Teaser Tuesday 22nd September 2015

First Chapter, First Paragraph, Tuesday Intros is hosted by Bibliophile by the Sea where bloggers share the first paragraph or two of the book they are currently reading/thinking about reading soon. Teaser Tuesday is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of A Daily Rhythm. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:

• Grab your current read

 Open to a random page

• Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
• BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
• Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

Ann:
Just Like the Movies (If Only . . ., #7)
Tuesday Intro:
"The music practically floats out the speakers; it fills up the fenced yard, flies over the swing set, and spins into eddies under the deck. Peter Gabriel's voice is gruff and soft in all the best ways, but my arms are already tired and I've been holding this speaker dock over my head for less than a minute. How did John Cusack do it with a boom box three times this size?"
The Talisman Ring
Teaser Tuesday:
"Sir Tristram had risen and gone over to the fire to replace the smoking log. He did not answer until he had done so, and then he said in his cool, disinterested voice: "You wrote that you had arranged a marriage for me with your grand-daughter."
Clare:
Eighth Grave After Dark (Charley Davidson, #8)
Tuesday Intro:
"There was a dead tax attorney in my closet, sobbing uncontrollably into the hem of her blouse. She'd been there a few days now. It made getting dressed in the morning awkward."
I always love the humour in Darynda Jones's books. This is the eighth book in the Charley Davidson series and I highly recommend the series as a whole!
The Singular and Extraordinary Tale of Mirror and Goliath (The Peculiar Adventures of John Loveheart, Esq. #1)
Teaser Tuesday:
"Her words were so soft. Her teeth were so sharp. "I burnt his ancestral home to the ground. I killed his parents and his sister. I hunted him down, played games with him, toyed with him, butchered him and ate his heart."
"Do you think that was perhaps an over-reaction?" I said stupefied."
This is, without a doubt, one of the weirdest books I have ever read. Everyone in it has such a weird moral stance on murder as well. But, oddly, I am really enjoying it.

    1. It is a very good one to get into G. Heyer with, which is why I recommended it to Ann. But I started with Sylvester by her and then promptly bought every other book by her within a couple of months so I guess either one works! Thanks for visiting!
