Wednesday Catch-Up 7th December 2016

Every Wednesday we are linking up with WWW Wednesday. WWW Wednesday is hosted at Taking on a World of Words and asks 3 questions: What are you currently reading?, What did you recently finish reading? What do you think you'll read next?

Currently Reading:

The Trouble with Mistletoe (Heartbreaker Bay, #2)
The official start of my Christmas reads is The Trouble with Mistletoe by Jill Shalvis! I have been greatly looking forward to this one and I admit I have some pretty high hopes. I was sent this for review by the publisher so my review will be up soon!

Recently Finished:

Slave to Sensation (Psy-Changeling, #1)Firelight (Darkest London, #1)Someone to Love (Westcott, #1)
The first book I read this week was Slave to Sensation by Nalini Singh. I really enjoyed this one. I thought the characters were well developed and the world was built up enough for me to understand it but left enough unanswered that I am excited for future books in this series. I then read Firelight by Kristen Callihan which wasn't as absorbing as I hoped it would be. I just didn't feel as connected to the characters as I wanted to. I liked the main character but the rest just fell a little flat. I am not sure if I will continue with this series. Finally I read Someone to Love which is the newest book by Mary Balogh and the start of a new series. I really enjoyed this, the characters were all great and compelling - I loved the hero and honestly this felt very Georgette Heyer-esque which is always great to find.

Planning to Read Next:

Christmas in Eternity Springs: Eternity Springs 12 (A heartwarming, uplifting, feel-good romance series)Miracle On 5th Avenue (From Manhattan with Love #3)Christmas Ever After
Christmas in Eternity Springs is another review book and it just looks so Christmassy!! All these Christmas books are making me so excited for Christmas! Miracle on 5th Avenue is another one for review, Sarah Morgan is one of my new favourite authors and I am crazy excited for this. And finally Christmas Ever After is the third book in the Puffin Island trilogy which looks like it will be a good addition to the series.

You can also find us on Goodreads (Ann and Clare) to keep up with what we are reading.

  1. I'm going to have to remember some of these titles, or bookmark this post or something. I need some holiday reading for the plane trip home at the end of the month. :D

    1. Oh I have a lot of holiday reading. I have 19 Christmas books which is way more than anybody needs (I just got a little carried away)! So there will be a lot more Christmas reads to come!

  2. Wow! That's a Christmas spectacular! NINETEEN books!
My attempt at a festive book this week is a classic murder mystery set at Christmas - perhaps something you could read if the rom-coms become too much? ;-)
