Top Ten Books I Wish Would Be A TV Show

Top Ten Tuesdays are hosted by The Broke and the Bookish. You can find the links for this weeks topic here and for future topics head here.

1) The Raven Boys by Maggie Stiefvater
The Raven Boys (The Raven Cycle, #1)
Having just finished this series as I write this post - it's very much still on my mind. Which is perhaps why I thought of it first. Whilst I think that the series itself would make for a great TV Show I would also love a TV Show that picks up where the books leave off. Mostly, I'll admit, because I want more from these characters!

2) Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas
Throne of Glass (Throne of Glass, #1)
This is cheating because (I believe) there are already plans for this to be made into a TV show. I think there is a lot of potential and it would definitely be far better on TV than as a series of films.

3) Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi
Shatter Me (Shatter Me, #1)
Again - pretty sure there are plans for this to be a TV series. This is one of my all time favourite Young Adult series and I would love to see it on TV, its also one where, like The Raven Boys, I think there is a lot of potential for the TV Show to continue after the ending of the books.

4) Soulless by Gail Carriger
Soulless (Parasol Protectorate, #1)
This would work so well as a TV Show. There are plenty of mysteries to solve and the alternative historical London would be great. I also think the sequel series about Alexa's daughter would make for great television.

5) Discworld by Terry Pratchett
The Colour of Magic (Discworld, #1)
Definitely, definitely cheating since there are already TV movies/shows from this series (all of which are great by the way) but there are so many other books in the series and I just want more of them to be filmed.

6) The Empress of Rome series by Kate Quinn
Mistress of Rome (The Empress of Rome, #1)
TV Shows (or really anything) set in Rome fascinate me and this is one of my favourite historical book series so I would love to see this happen.

7) Shades of London by Maureen Johnson
The Name of the Star (Shades of London, #1)
A group of ghost hunters in London? Definite TV Show material. And you wouldn't even need to keep strictly to the books main plot - there is plenty of room to go off on side cases.

8) The Diviners by Libba Bray
The Diviners (The Diviners, #1)
There is no way that a movie could do this series justice so it would definitely need a TV show. Plus the setting would look amazing.

9) His Fair Assassin by Robin LaFevers
Grave Mercy (His Fair Assassin, #1)
Assassins trained in a convent. This is another one where I wouldn't care so much about the main plot, I just think the concept alone would make an amazing TV show and it would certainly be a lot of fun to watch.

10) Don't Even Think About It by Sarah Mlynowski
Don't Even Think About It
When reading this there was definitely a part of me that thought it would work well as a TV show. Whilst I did really enjoy it there were definitely times where it would have worked better on film and I'd love to see this happen.

Bonus: Poison Study by Maria V. Snyder
Poison Study (Study, #1)
This is a bonus pick rather than a normal pick because, whilst I definitely would watch it, I would also be heartbroken if it wasn't perfect. The casting and the setting and the plot would all need to be done so well, so my desire to watch the TV show would war with my terror that it wouldn't live up to the books.

If you took part this week please leave me a link in the comments, I'd love to check out everyone else's picks!

You can also find us on Goodreads (Ann and Clare) to keep up with what we are reading
