Friday Reads 21st October 2016

Friday 56 is hosted at Freda's Voice and Book Beginnings is hosted by Rose City Reader. The idea is to share a sentence or so from the first page and the 56th page of the book you are currently reading!

White Lies (Arcane Society, #2)
Book Beginning:
"Clare Lancaster sat in the cafe of a large bookstore in Phoenix, Arizona, waiting for the half sister she had never met."

Friday 56:
"Despite the risks, however, it seemed that in every generation some power-hungry sensitive came along who would stop at nothing to re-create the founder's formula."

I can feel myself heading into a reading slump and I am hoping that this will be the book to stop that happening! I am expecting it to be thrilling and romantic and hopefully have characters that I can get really attached to.

You can also find us on Goodreads (Ann and Clare) to keep up with what we are reading

    1. It's my first time reading her under this name, I've read her Amanda Quick books, and I am intrigued to see how similar/different they are!

  3. This does sound good - I am in a reading slump myself and trying to push through it but it's been really hard - actually it's not so much a reading slump as a reviewing slump if that makes sense...anyway this definitely sounds like a book I would enjoy and I'll be adding it to my list. Thanks for visiting my Friday meme earlier

  5. I've read other books by this author and enjoyed them. This sounds like another good one. I'm wondering how this meeting will change the character's life.

  13. Love the cover, not sure if it's my kind of book, I myself am trying to get out of a reading slump. Been in one pretty much since the start of summer. I hope this book gets you out of your reading slump.
