Friday 56 is hosted at Freda's Voice and Book Beginnings is hosted by Rose City Reader. The idea is to share a sentence or so from the first page and the 56th page of the book you are currently reading!
Book Beginning:
"Clare Lancaster sat in the cafe of a large bookstore in Phoenix, Arizona, waiting for the half sister she had never met."
Friday 56:
"Despite the risks, however, it seemed that in every generation some power-hungry sensitive came along who would stop at nothing to re-create the founder's formula."
I can feel myself heading into a reading slump and I am hoping that this will be the book to stop that happening! I am expecting it to be thrilling and romantic and hopefully have characters that I can get really attached to.
This sounds really good and I love that cover. I haven't read this author in quite a while. Must fix that:)
ReplyDeleteMy Friday 56 from One Of Windsor
It's my first time reading her under this name, I've read her Amanda Quick books, and I am intrigued to see how similar/different they are!
DeleteLove Jayne Ann Krentz...love that the story opens in a book store...I've got to read this one.
ReplyDeleteAny story set in a book store has to appeal!
DeleteThis does sound good - I am in a reading slump myself and trying to push through it but it's been really hard - actually it's not so much a reading slump as a reviewing slump if that makes sense...anyway this definitely sounds like a book I would enjoy and I'll be adding it to my list. Thanks for visiting my Friday meme earlier
ReplyDeleteYeah, I had a reviewing slump recently and now I feel like I could review but can't read! Very contrary!
DeleteI love this author, and this is one I haven't read...yet. Thanks for tempting me...and for visiting my blog.
ReplyDeleteI am really glad I picked this one up!
DeleteI've read other books by this author and enjoyed them. This sounds like another good one. I'm wondering how this meeting will change the character's life.
ReplyDeleteMy Friday post features The Midwife of Hope River.
It is sure to be either an awkward or an emotional meeting! Glad to hear you've enjoyed her other books.
DeleteThis looks interesting and I like the psychic angle. Nice cover too.
ReplyDeleteIt's always interesting to read from a psychic's POV!
DeleteThis sounds like a good one. Thanks for mentioning it. :-)
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting!
DeleteInteresting and an author I've never read, too. Off to learn more about her.
ReplyDeleteHope you enjoy her books if you try them!
DeleteThat beginning is off to a good start. Would love to be a fly on the wall for that meeting. :-) Happy weekend!
ReplyDeleteWould definitely be an interesting one!
DeleteThis sounds good. I haven't read this author in awhile. She's always good.
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear you like her books!

DeleteLove the cover, not sure if it's my kind of book, I myself am trying to get out of a reading slump. Been in one pretty much since the start of summer. I hope this book gets you out of your reading slump.

Reading slumps are the worst aren't they!?
