Friday Reads 9th December 2016

Friday 56 is hosted at Freda's Voice and Book Beginnings is hosted by Rose City Reader. The idea is to share a sentence or so from the first page and the 56th page of the book you are currently reading!

The Trouble with Mistletoe (Heartbreaker Bay, #2)
Book Beginning:
"The sun had barely come up and Willa Davis was already elbow deep in puppies and poo - a typical day for her."

Friday 56:
"She kissed the dog right between the huge, pointy ears."
So dogs are obviously a general theme in this book! I am not yet up to the 56. But I love Jill Shalvis's writing and I already like Willa. Although we don't seem to have a lot in common when it comes to that opening sentence. Firstly, if I am up before the sun it's because I didn't go to sleep and secondly - much as I love puppies being elbow deep in them and poo would not be my idea of fun! This is the official start of my Christmas reading and I think it will be a great one to start with!

You can also find us on Goodreads (Ann and Clare) to keep up with what we are reading

  3. That cover is super colorful and adorable! And those excerpts made me giggle just a little bit--I can imagine being up to my elbows in puppies, but POO?! No, thank you. Just the puppies, please!

Thank you so much for sharing! Here's my Friday 56, if you're interested in checking it out--no worries or pressure if you're not, though! Either way, happy book-ing to you in the near future...and happy Friday! <3

    1. Puppies are pretty irresistible - turned out cats played a bigger part overall! But I love both so its a win-win!
