Book Beginning:
"The day I met Mr Gellis, I had been walking in the rain."
Friday 56:
"Despite Mr Gellis' assurances, I could hear the words as they came from my lips, and they sounded insane. I sounded like a delusional woman who has had a waking nightmare."
I am feeling a bit slumpy at the moment so I decided to put my currently reading books to one side for a second and dive into some re-reads. I first read The Haunting of Maddy Clare last October and loved it so I am interested to see if I love it as much the second time around.
It's sometimes comforting to reread a book, isn't it? I hope you're enjoying the story as much the second time around. I love the cover.
ReplyDeleteMy Friday post features Náápiikoan Winter.
I certainly am so far! And that was exactly my thought - I need something comforting!
DeleteThat 56 is excellent - I may be adding this to my tbr. :)
ReplyDeleteYou definitely should! Simone St. James is a favourite author of mine!
DeleteThat is an excellent idea for a reading slump...pick up an old favorite. Enjoy! My Friday Quotes
ReplyDeleteIt generally works for me! I hope it does this time - I'd hate to start the New Year in a reading slump!
DeleteI have this one! I've yet to read it but it was a daily deal and I couldn't resist. I'll definitely have to check it out now!
ReplyDeleteI hope you get to read it soon! And that you enjoy it - it's one of my favourites!
DeleteWhat a good idea, grabbing a book we loved when we're in a slump. I like the look of this one...great cover, and the excerpts make me want to know more.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing, and here's mine: “THE MISSING”
I really like this book - and all Simone St. James' works!
DeleteI do this often. I have a couple of go to books that I reread often. It's relaxing:)
ReplyDeleteA classic line for this one.
My Friday 56 from Guarded
I have books like that too! I've never re-read this one before but I think I'll enjoy it! :)
DeleteYou have me piqued. :-) Wishing you the best in 2017!
ReplyDeleteThe same to you! Happy New Year! :)
Deleteoh wow, must have been really good if you already re-read it! I went to see what it was all about. Romance and ghosts are not my cup of tea, so I'll just comment on the beauty of the book cover
ReplyDeleteGhosts are not usually my cup of tea but romance generally is - and they both work well in this one! It is a lovely book cover - and I love that it matches her other books even though they aren't a series!
