Friday 56 is hosted at Freda's Voice and Book Beginnings is hosted by Rose City Reader. The idea is to share a sentence or so from the first page and the 56th page of the book you are currently reading!
Book Beginning:
"Carrie Slayton's feet were killing her."
Friday 56:
"This was an unwelcome predicament, and Finn wasn't the least bit happy."
Short but sweet quotes this week! That opening makes me instantly relate to Carrie - my shoes aren't always the most practical! I am curious about the second quote - would love to know what made Finn not the least bit happy. This is the eighth of my Christmas reads (thirteen more to go) and I am really enjoying my festive reading so far!
I apologise in advance if I don't stop by your blog today or reply to any comments - I am heading up to Wales to stay with a friend for a few days and I am not likely to have access to the blog whilst I am there! I am sure Ann will take great care of it whilst I am gone and when I get back I will have everyone's posts to look forward to!!
Wow, you are on a roll with your Christmas reads. Starry Night sounds like a cute holiday read.
ReplyDeleteSo many Christmas reads! There's no way I'll get to them all but it's fun to try!
DeleteBeautiful cover. Can't go wrong with Macomber for Xmas.

I've never tried her before but it was very Christmassy!
DeleteEnjoy your visit with your friend! I love Debbie Macomber's Christmas books and this one looks like a fun read though I wonder about what's up with Finn as well.
ReplyDeleteFinn was basically just super anti-social at that time in the book! I had a good time with my friend thank you!
DeleteI really must read one of Macomber's holiday books! Thanks for sharing, and here's mine: “WHITE TRASH”
ReplyDeleteI've heard such great things about her books so I thought now would be a great time to try one!
DeleteSuch a lovely and inviting cover and title. I can relate to the sore feet!
ReplyDeleteMy Friday 56 from In The Blue Hour
It looks so cosy doesn't it?
DeleteThis sounds good. I can identify with the beginning too. I have a mystery this week - Ill Met by Murder by Elizabeth J. Duncan. Happy reading!
ReplyDeleteIt's a very relatable beginning I think!!
DeleteThis book sounds good! Here is my 56: http://shoshireads.weebly.com/home/friday-56-and-book-beginnings

DeleteThose snippets were not what I was expecting at all. :-) Happy weekend!
ReplyDeleteI like when books surprise me - generally! Hope you had a great weekend too!
DeleteI don't think Macomber has ever gone wrong with Christmas. I'll definitely be picking this one up!
ReplyDeleteHope you enjoy it! :)
DeleteSomehow I've never ever read Macomber, but I have been told she's very good. :)
ReplyDeleteCheck out my Friday 56 (With Book Beginnings) + 50/50 Friday and my current giveaway.
Same! I read a lot of romance so it's weird I've never read one of her books before!
