Friday Reads 17th March 2017

Friday 56 is hosted at Freda's Voice and Book Beginnings is hosted by Rose City Reader. The idea is to share a sentence or so from the first page and the 56th page of the book you are currently reading!

Blood Tide (Paula Maguire, #5)
Book Beginning:
"Dear Paula. By the time you read this, you'll see that I am gone..."

Friday 56:
"The man fluttered his eyelids again and all of a sudden tried to sit up with one big salty roar."
I'll be taking part in a blog tour for this next Friday so I have started reading it almost the second it came in the post! The first sentence is very intriguing and ominous and I like the contrast between "fluttered" and "roar" in the 56 - they aren't words usually used in the same sentence! This is actually the fifth book in the Paula Maguire series and I'll confess I haven't read the first four! But I am still really excited to get stuck in!

You can also find us on Goodreads (Ann and Clare), Facebook and Instagram to keep up with what we are reading.

  4. This one does sound tempting...and I want to know what the roaring is about. Here's mine: “NEVER CHANGE”

  5. I've seen this series before and I'd love to start at number one, You're brave, starting on the fifth. Sounds great. The Undoing Project is my Friday book.
