Friday Reads 9th September 2016

Friday 56 is hosted at Freda's Voice and Book Beginnings is hosted by Rose City Reader. The idea is to share a sentence or so from the first page and the 56th page of the book you are currently reading!

You And Me, Always: The No. 1 Bestseller
The book I am about to start reading is You and Me, Always by Jill Mansell. It sounds like it will be a really sweet fun read and I am very much looking forward to diving in.

Book Beginning:
"There he was, sitting in the sun outside the Star Inn."

Friday 56:
"And does anyone else know I'm here? Have you mentioned it to the rest of the village left?"
"Of course I have. Didn't you hear me bellowing the announcement through my loudhailer."
The first quote isn't very dramatic but there's something about the "he" that makes "him" sound important to the narrator so that intrigues me and the second quote I like because I always enjoy a bit of sarcasm!

You can also find us on Goodreads (Ann and Clare) to keep up with what we are reading

  1. The word "loudhailer" is new to me -- and I always like to learn new words. Love the sarcasm too.
My Friday post features CHESTNUT STREET by Maeve Binchy.

    1. I think maybe it means a megaphone? I'd never heard them referred to as loudhailers either!
