Sunday Post 9th April 2017

STSmall_thumb[2]
The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted at Caffeinated Book Reviewer, it's a chance to post a recap on the past week, show the books we have received and share what we plan for the coming week. Stacking the Shelves is hosted by Tynga's Reviews and the aim is to show our newest books and to see what everyone else received for review, borrowed from libraries, bought in bookshops or downloaded on to their e-reader. As always you can click on any of the pictures to be taken to the Goodreads page for that book if you're interested in finding out more about it or click the title to go to the review.

Announcement:

I got a very positive response when I first advanced the idea for my new link-up so we are going to start it tomorrow! The idea is simply to add a link for your favourite blog post from the past week. Which could be a review you worked really hard on or a book tag that was a lot of fun to create, whatever it may be you can add it and hopefully I, and others, can discover new blogs and interact more with the blogs we already follow! I'm really looking forward to it and hope some of you will take part!

Films of the Week:

I watched Evil Dead first this week which was... an experience? I'm a colossal wimp so I actually found myself quite scared but it was also a lot of fun. And in true horror movie tradition almost every character was a complete idiot.
And then. Then. Not a film - a tv show - The Lizzie Borden Chronicles which I loved. It was incredible honestly. Lizzie was such a compelling character - unlikable and yet somehow I adored her. I genuinely intended to watch the first five minutes to see if I should add it to my wishlist and eight hours later a very tired me had binge watched the entire thing. I'm actually now in a bit of a TV-hangover which I didn't even know was a thing - because I cant find anything similarly epic.

Last Week on the Blog:

Books We Got This Week:

Ann:
Royal Tour (Potion, #2)
The Potion Diaries Royal Tour by Amy Alward: I remember enjoying the first book in this series - although I don't remember much of the plot so will have to do a re-read I think!

Clare:

Purchased:
Lover Eternal (Black Dagger Brotherhood #2)Lover Awakened (Black Dagger Brotherhood, #3)Lover Enshrined (Black Dagger Brotherhood, #6)Early One Morning
Lover Eternal/Lover Awakened/Lover Enshrined by J.R. Ward: This is one of those series that I've just heard great things about so when I saw these for 50p I grabbed them. These are books 2, 3 and 6 in the series.
Early One Morning by Virginia Baily: This seems very much like the sort of book that will make me cry. I've read some great reviews for it and it was only £1.99 in the Works.
I Want It That Way (2B Trilogy #1)As Long As You Love Me (2B Trilogy, #2)The Shape of My Heart (2B Trilogy #3)The Melody of You and Me (Lillac Town, #1)
I Want It That Way/As Long As You Love Me/The Shape of My Heart by Ann Aguirre: Vera @ Regal Critiques recommended these to me and I am really excited for them. Although it must be said I've had I Want It That Way stuck in my head for at least a week and I'm starting to go insane.
The Melody of You and Me by M. Hollis: I don't know a lot about this book besides the basic plot summary and the fact that I've seen a few good reviews but it was free on Kindle so I kinda had to, you know?
AriadnisTiny Pretty ThingsRunning Hot (Arcane Society, #5)In Farleigh Field: A Novel of World War II
Ariadnis by Josh Martin: I went to Waterstones this week which was great because I love it there and I discovered this. I've never heard of it before and I don't really know much about it but the COVER. I mean it's pretty here but in real life its stunning!
Tiny Pretty Things by Sona Charaipotra & Dhoniele Clayton: I've been hearing a lot of good things about this one AND its about ballet which is one of my favourite things.
Running Hot by Jayne Ann Krentz: I've given up on reading this series in order. Its not meant to be I guess, but this is number 5 I think? Anyway I hope I get to read it soon because it should be a very quick read.
In Fairleigh Field by Rhys Bowen: I've read some of Rhys Bowen's other books and this really appealed to me! It was free on kindle unlimited so I snapped it up although goodness knows when I'll actually read it?
