Friday Reads 11th November 2016

Friday 56 is hosted at Freda's Voice and Book Beginnings is hosted by Rose City Reader. The idea is to share a sentence or so from the first page and the 56th page of the book you are currently reading!

Stalking Jack the Ripper (Stalking Jack the Ripper, #1)
Book Beginning:
"I placed my thumb and forefinger on the icy flesh, spreading it out above the breastbone as Uncle had showed me."

Friday 56:
"The murderer truly must be a madman if he thought what he was doing was helpful or righteous. And that thought was more terrifying than any other."
I am only just starting this book but that first sentence certainly sets a tone! I am a fairly squeamish person (and something about the word flesh just creeps me out) but I am excited for this book. And I definitely see her point on the 56 - a murderer who thinks they're in the right is much more terrifying to deal with.

You can also find us on Goodreads (Ann and Clare) to keep up with what we are reading

    1. It has Jack the Ripper in the title so I am not sure why I am surprised at the level of gory/creepy details but I really am!

  5. I've been seeing this book literally EVERYWHERE lately and am now super intrigued, although a bit scared all the recent hype will mean a huge disappointment if I pick it up. Still--that first sentence is killer, and so attention-grabbing! Thank you so much for sharing--I hope you enjoy the rest of the read!

Here's my Friday 56 if you're interested in checking it out, though no pressure or worries if you're not! Happy book-ing to you, and happy Friday! Stay rockin'! <3

    1. I am always worried about that with hyped up books! So far this one is really surprising me but it's too early to tell if I will love it or not!
