Friday Reads 4th November 2016

Friday 56 is hosted at Freda's Voice and Book Beginnings is hosted by Rose City Reader. The idea is to share a sentence or so from the first page and the 56th page of the book you are currently reading!

Yesternight
Book Beginning:
"I disembarked a train at the little log depot at Gordon Bay, Oregon, and a sudden force - a charging bull - immediately slammed me to the ground."

Friday 56:
"I nodded and smiled, but inwardly I shouted, Holy hell! Why on earth is this astounding girl stuck in a one-room school-house in the middle of Nowhere, Oregon?"
I am currently about 30% through this and really enjoying it so far. It's a bit different in feel from her Young Adult books but I love both her styles so that's not a problem. I really adore the main character and I am totally sucked in by the mystery at this point. I'm definitely excited to see where this story is going!

You can also find us on Goodreads (Ann and Clare) to keep up with what we are reading

I always like a good mystery. Love the cover on this one! And that opening sentence is interesting- is it the weather or something else that knocks her down? Makes me curious. :)

Pretty cover. I'm with Greg. I first thought the weather, but then I let my imagination run with it. LOL

Cat Winters is one of my favorite authors, but I somehow managed to forget that this book was soon to be a thing! XD Now I need to go look it up on Goodreads, again--thanks so so much for sharing and reminding me!

Here's my Friday 56, if you're interested! No worries if you're not, though! Either way, happy book-ing to you in the future, and happy Friday!

I absolutely adore every single one of Cat Winters' novels - The Cure for Dreaming the least, In the Shadow of Blackbirds the most. This one became another favorite of mine - glad you're enjoying it so far, and hope you'll love the whole thing. :)

PS: If you want to chat about it afterwards just DM me on Twitter (@VVeronika96) - IDK any other Cat Winters fans. :|

Unfortunately not a real charging bull! That would have been very exciting!! Although possibly slightly more deadly.

The cover looks pretty cool. It doesn't sound like something that would be up my alley, but I hope you enjoy it. Here's my beginning and 56 if you're interested.
