Wednesday Catch-Up 16th November 2016

Every Wednesday we are linking up with WWW Wednesday. WWW Wednesday is hosted at Taking on a World of Words and asks 3 questions: What are you currently reading?, What did you recently finish reading? What do you think you'll read next?

Clare:

Currently Reading:
The Chemist
I am just over halfway through The Chemist by Stephenie Meyer and I am mostly enjoying it so far. It does drag in places and I think it is probably way longer than it really needed to be - which is why it's taking me so long to finish!

Recently Finished:
Stalking Jack the Ripper (Stalking Jack the Ripper, #1)
I only finished one book this week but at least it was a good one! Stalking Jack the Ripper was a really great mystery, very gruesome and with some amazing characters. I did solve the mystery way before the main character (who didn't actually solve it so much as accidentally stumble into the answer) but I can completely understand why she never saw it coming.

Planning to Read Next:
FrictionBurn (Dark in You #1)The Secret
Next up I am planning to read Friction by Sandra Brown. This will be my second Sandra Brown book (the first being Sting which I reviewed on Monday) and I am excited to read this one. I then want to read Burn by Suzanne wright which I think I will really enjoy as I am kind of in the mood for paranormal romance right now. And then finally I may read The Secret by Kathryn Hughes. I don't know much about this one but I feel like it will be a definite change of pace from my recent reads.

You can also find us on Goodreads (Ann and Clare) to keep up with what we are reading

  1. Ooh I had a card about The Chemist saying the book would follow - it hasn't turned up yet... I'm keen on The Secret too.

  2. I enjoyed Friction...and I love the look of The Secret. Enjoy your reading...and I tend to avoid my longer books lately, fearing that they will drag. LOL.

    1. I am nearing the end of Friction and really enjoying it so far! The Secret is one I am really intrigued by! Yeah, The Chemist was definitely dragging - especially towards the end. It could have done with being a bit shorter!

  4. Its a Shame The Chemist is dragging for you. That's always a shame when you think "HALF OF THIS COULD BE CUT!" I hope your next read is more enjoyable. Happy reading!

    1. There is a really good, well researched story at its heart but then there is so much unnecessary filler that I just wanted to skip! I enjoyed it overall but it took me so long to read because of how slow some scenes were!
