Cover Characteristic: Skulls

Cover Characteristic is a weekly feature over at Sugar & Snark. I am posting this a little early this week since I won't have access to the internet for a little while. I was so glad to get to do another cover characteristic after the hiatus last week - they are always such fun and often quite challenging.

For some reason I thought I would be able to find loads for this week but I actually struggled a bit. I vaguely remembered an Edgar Allen Poe cover with a skull so went rooting through goodreads - this wasn't the one I remembered but I like it. I love the cover for Vengeance Road - it is almost definitely my favourite, this book is so beautiful in real life. But I've always loved the covers on the Inkheart trilogy and this was the first book that came to mind so it may be a draw! I feel like The Book Thief is a cheat but Death has a skull for a face? It's tiny but it counts!

    I also struggled this week! I'm glad I wasn't the only one. You found such unique covers. I like the Poe and Funke covers.
