WWW Wednesday and What Are You Reading Wednesday 16th September

WWW Wednesday is hosted at Taking on a World of Words and asks 3 questions: What are you currently reading?, What did you recently finish reading? What do you think you'll read next?

What Are You Reading Wednesdays are hosted on It's a Reading Thing and asks;
1. What's the name of your current read?
2. Go to page 34, or 34% in your e-book and share one complete sentence.
3. Would you like to live in the world that exists within your book? Why or why not?

Ann couldn't take part this week as she is feeling a little ill, so it's only me (Clare) but she should be better for next week and she is very disappointed not to participate.

Currently Reading:

The Rest of Us Just Live HereThe Wings of the Dove
I am currently reading The Rest of Us Just Live Here by Patrick Ness, which I am really enjoying so far. I am also still reading The Wings of the Dove by Henry James which I am mostly enjoying although it is very long and the writing can be quite heavy.
"We had the same amount of heartache when a new round of indie kids exorcised the sorrow from all those soul-eating ghosts eight years later (that was the year they blew up the high school, a heretofore unknown part of the exorcism ritual, I guess)." - Page 34, The Rest of Us Just Live Here
I think honestly, I kind of would want to live in this world. I mean, granted I am only a couple of chapters in, but it's funny and interesting so at this point yes. Probably once everything really starts to go wrong I might change my mind, but for now it appeals to me.

Recently Finished:
Lair of Dreams (The Diviners, #2)These Shallow GravesMad About the HatterThis Is One Moment
Since last Wednesday I managed to read 3 of my remaining arc's from Netgalley. I finished Lair of Dreams which did take me a while because it is 600 pages long, but it was very well worth it. I have a full review up here and if you are looking for a creepy Halloween read I definitely recommend it! I then read These Shallow Graves, I have written my review for this but I am going to post it nearer to the release date which is 27th October, I did enjoy it but I felt it was longer than it needed to be and the main character did annoy me quite a bit. I then read Mad About the Hatter which didn't take me long at all since it was only 190 pages. It was a lot of fun and I liked the characters a lot, I thought the humour was nonsensical which was wonderfully fitting for a Wonderland book and I liked the romance. There is a slight element of insta-love but not enough to annoy, at least not to annoy me and I do usually hate insta-love. Finally I read This Is One Moment by Mila Gray which I really liked, I thought the characters were excellent and the plot was engaging and the romance felt realistic. I look forward to more of her books.

Planning to Read Next:
More Than This
I am really enjoying The Rest of Us Just Live Here so I am thinking I might move on to something else by him but I'm not really in the mood for anything in particular at the moment so it might just be a case of grabbing whatever catches my eye!

You can also find us on Goodreads (Ann and Clare) and on Twitter (Ann and Clare) to keep up with what we are reading
