Top Ten Books to Read if You Are in the Mood for Revenge!

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature over at The Broke and the Bookish. This week's feature was books to read if you are in the mood for X and I decided to go for revenge since it is one of my favourite things to read about. These are in no particular order.

1) Vengeance Road by Erin Bowman
Vengeance Road
Real, proper, gritty violence and a main character with a take no prisoners attitude. When I say I want a revenge book this is just what I have in mind!

2) A Madness So Discreet by Mindy McGinnis
A Madness So Discreet
Most of this book is actually more murder mystery than revenge story. But the revenge at the end is very satisfying ultimately.

3) I Am Her Revenge by Meredith Moore
I Am Her Revenge
Probably one of my favourite books of last year. A truly, horribly twisted villain and a very broken and flawed main character. This isn't a revenge you will root for but it makes for a great read!

4) Dangerous Girls by Abigail Haas
Dangerous Girls
It's probably best if I say as little as possible about this one. It's one of the few thrillers I've actually managed to enjoy and it kept me guessing until the last page.

5) The Revenge Playbook by Rachael Allen
The Revenge Playbook
This is a revenge you really can get behind. I loved all of these girls and I definitely want to re-read this.

6) Tainted Angel by Anne Cleeland
Tainted Angel (Regency, #1)
A little more espionage than revenge but it's such a great read and I am longing for more from Anne Cleeland!

7) Rook by Sharon Cameron
Rook
This is revenge on a very large scale. I've seen mixed reviews for this but I really enjoyed it and thought it was fun and thrilling!

8) Burn for Burn by Jenny Han & Siobhan Vivian
Burn for Burn (Burn for Burn, #1)
I enjoyed this trilogy right up until the ending which I thought was disappointing. But everything else was very pretty little liars-esque and I enjoyed it a lot.

And now for two I haven't yet read but am desperate to!

9) The Assassin's Heart by Sarah Ahiers
Assassin's Heart (Assassin's Heart, #1)
With a tag line that says "revenge is all that remains" I have high, high hopes for this! I love assassins, I love revenge and I adore the cover!

10) Revenge and the Wild by Michelle Modesto
Revenge and the Wild
There is nothing about this synopsis that doesn't excite me! I have heard some great things about this one as well!

Let me know your favourite revenge stories in the comments and if you've read any of these let me know what you thought of them!

You can also find us on Goodreads (Ann and Clare) to keep up with what we are reading
