Sunday Post 13th December

The Sunday Post STSmall_thumb[2]
The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted at Caffeinated Book Reviewer, it's a chance to post a recap on the past week, show the books we have received and share what we plan for the coming week. Stacking the Shelves is hosted by Tynga's Reviews and Showcase Sunday is hosted by Books, Biscuits and Tea and the aim is to show our newest books and to see what everyone else received for review, borrowed from libraries, bought in bookshops or downloaded on to their e-reader. As always you can click on any of the pictures to be taken to the Goodreads page for that book if you're interested in finding out more about it.

Books We Got This Week:

Ann:
The Testing (The Testing, #1)
The Testing by Joelle Charbonneau: Clare picked this up for me from the library and it sounds like a good read.

Clare:
Untold (The Lynburn Legacy, #2)Unmade (The Lynburn Legacy, #3)For Darkness Shows the Stars (For Darkness Shows the Stars, #1)Across a Star-Swept Sea (For Darkness Shows the Stars, #2)
Untold/Unmade by Sarah Rees Brennan: I loved the first book so I don't know why it's taken me so long to get these but I am excited to complete the series. I wish my copy of the first book matched these covers though.
For Darkness Shows the Stars/Across a Star-Swept Sea by Diana Peterfreund: I have heard such mixed things about these but they look romantic and beautiful and they are retellings I believe so I want to read them soon!
This Shattered World (Starbound, #2)Their Fractured Light (Starbound, #3)
This Shattered World/Their Fractured Light by Amie Kaufman & Meagan Spooner: Another one where I loved the first book, both of these look great and I can't wait to read them.

Reading Update:

Ann: I still have yet to finish anything which is very frustrating but I hope to finish something soon.

Clare:
The Infinite Loop (The Infinite Loop, Tome 1)The Beekeeper's DaughterThe Widow's ConfessionVengeance Road
The Infinite Loop by Pierrick Colinet and Elsa Charretier: 3.5 stars, I liked this but I didn't love it - which is probably my own fault for not fully understanding time travel!
The Beekeeper's Daughter by Santa Montefiore: 3.5 stars, I have loved other of her books more but I still enjoyed this one. I'm not sure how I feel about the ending though.
The Widow's Confession by Sophia Tobin: 4.5 stars, I so thought I knew who the guilty party was. I love how Sophia Tobin makes me question everyone's innocence. I didn't like Theo - the way he acted when he found out about Delphine's past was pretty awful but I loved everything else about this.
Vengeance Road by Erin Bowman: 4.5 stars, This is the vengeance story I've always wanted. I always say I love stories of revenge but they always seem so watered down and this was just great! Amazing main character and a great plot.

Classics Update:

Daisy MillerThe Beautiful and Damned
Ann: I am very nearly finished reading Daisy Miller and I enjoyed it very much.
Clare: I have only read two chapters of The Beautiful and Damned so far but I am enjoying it.

  1. I've heard The Testing is really good and I've got a book by Charbonneau I'm reading now- if I like it when I'm done I may read those. I hope your books are all good- looks like a nice mix. Your Top 5 post sounds good too. :)
